Debate results are in: The lies have it
Who told the truth in the presidential debate Wednesday night?
We partnered with Crimson Hexagon to analyze perceptions on Twitter about whether the candidates conveyed facts or untruths during Wednesday night's presidential debate in Denver.
The pundits largely agree that Romney put forth a good performance Wednesday night and perhaps even won the debate. But based on our analysis of the Twitter conversation having to do with truth telling, Romney was perceived to be telling lies significantly more than Obama was perceived to be putting forth false claims. The analysis is intended to reflect the public perception of truthfulness.
In the analysis of nearly 500,000 opinions — a special sentiment monitor Crimson Hexagon produced for Current TV — 29 percent of the conversation about truth telling on Twitter held that Romney was telling lies, while only 2 percent said the same about Obama.

WATCH: Our panel concludes Obama was right on facts,
but missed opportunities against Romney.
The majority of the conversation about truth in the debate had to do with the general practice of fact checking, including re-tweeting journalistic statements and other sources that were fact checking the candidates in real or close-to-real time.
Some 14 percent of tweets shared the opinion that both candidates lie.
What do you think? Did Romney "win" the lie battle? Do both candidates lie?

    • Romney with his "army" GOP (Congress and Senates) are CORPORATE AMERICA yet not Americans. Since Watergate and the most recent Bush era.
Its time now to get rid of all of them from all elections for the next 12 years from Jan 2013 to Dec 2024.

    • Romney "win" the lie battle. And looks like confidence trickster. Its the same with the GOP and all the rest of the GOP House of Representatives and their Senates. Its time now to get rid of all of them from all elections for the next 12 years from Jan 2013 to Dec 2024.
