Dear Francis,
As the year winds down, we (Nita, Shaunna, Kat and Karin) just wanted to drop a quick note to thank you---from the bottom of our hearts- for building and being a part of this amazing community.
UltraViolet launched in the spring of this year with a big goal: to fight sexism in our culture and our politics and to create "equality at a higher frequency."
In the 10 months since--because of you--we have grown to an amazing community of more than 375,000 women and men in every state and congressional district. Together, we have run more than 22 campaigns and taken action a whopping 1,769,632 times together--from making phone calls and signing petitions to showing up at demonstrations and sharing important information on Facebook.
And because of all that energy and work, we've been able to achieve quite a few victories together in a short time. We've helped protect birth control from right-wing assault, gotten over 140 advertisers to drop Rush Limbaugh's show over abusive comments he made about Sandra Fluke, pushed Facebook to appoint the first woman to its board, and so much more.
It's been inspiring. And we just wanted to thank you for being a part of it.
