Past problems at Brazil World Cup, Oly Stadiums

Associated Press
A look at problems that have been suffered by some of the stadiums being built or renovated for next year's World Cup and the 2016 Olympics:
___
March 26, 2013:  Rio de Janeiro officials close the Rio stadium that will be used for track and field at the 2016 Olympics and announce in June that it will remain closed until 2015 because of structural problems with its roof. City authorities have said it will take nearly 18 months to fix the Joao Havelange Olympic Stadium, known locally as the Engenhao. The stadium was built for the 2007 Pan American Games.
___
May 27, 2013:  A small part of the roof of the Arena Fonte Nova in the northeastern city of Salvador collapsed after it was unable to sustain the large amount of water that settled on top of it when it rained heavily overnight. There were no injuries. Stadium officials denied any structural problems in the project and said the collapse happened because of a mistake by a worker inspecting the roof on Sunday.
_
March, 28 2013: A worker died in the construction site of the Arena Amazonia in the jungle city of Manaus. The 49-year-old man fell from about 5 meters while crossing over an elevated concrete structure at the site.
___
March, 6 2013: Heavy rains flood the construction site of the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, forcing the cancellation of a FIFA inspection visit at the time. In May, a small part of the roof at the stadium in Salvador fell in after it wasn't able to sustain the large amount of water that settled on top of it.
___
June, 11 2012: A worker died during construction of Mane Garrincha stadium in the capital of Brasilia after falling 100 feet at the building site.  The companies in charge of the construction said at the time that the worker appeared to be wearing his safety equipment at the time of the accident.
